Sunday JAM (that’s Jesus And Me), provides Bible-based FUN learning for children aged 3–10 years and it keeps them occupied on Sunday mornings during the Church service!
This, of course, was up until mid-March 2020, when the Covid outbreak meant that the Church service moved online. Since 28th March, a Sunday JAM email has been sent out every week to the families of Sunday JAM children, including a Bible story, songs, memory verse, prayers and various activities.
For the first couple of months of 2020, whilst still meeting at the church, the children looked at the book of Genesis. Firstly, learning from the story of Jonah how they can make choices as to how they live their lives. Then moving on to look at Jacob and how God helped him whilst he was alone and in a difficult situation and how God will always be with them when they face similar problems.
The Bible stories covered during the first lockdown were of Joshua, David, Nehemiah and Jeremiah. In the weekly Sunday JAM email a link was provided for a video of the story, so the children could watch it or read it in the Bible, with songs, prayers and activities on the theme provided too.
After the summer holidays the Sunday JAM weekly emails continued to provide Bible stories from the New Testament about Jesus – being accepted, included, restored, thankful, given choice, faithful and a healer.
The year was finished with the Christmas story and all the different people involved, so the children discovered the joy that surrounded the birth of Jesus.
In 2021 Sunday JAM will learn about how God created the world, and the season of Lent and Easter before moving on to discovering more about Isaac and Moses in the Old Testament and then Jesus and His healing power, touch, word and faith, through the Gospels.
Sunday JAM continues to be blessed with a great group of leaders and helpers who are committed to sharing their faith with the children in a fun and exciting way. If you would like to know more, please use the Contact Form below and one of the leaders will get back to you.
