This month two of our regular groups are coming together to raise funds for Macmillan.
Volunteers from the church and local community have been running a Community Coffee Shop for more than a year now. This welcomes people for drinks, cakes and light lunches from 10am to 3pm every Wednesday.
Our Thursday women’s group, Share & Prayer, has been running for some years and welcomes ladies of all ages who want to explore their faith. They have a strong desire to support others in the community and were keen to dedicate one of their meetings to a social event for friends.
Leaders of these two regular events started talking and thought it would be a great idea to come together to host a coffee morning, and link it in with Macmillan Cancer Support’s Coffee Morning.
Our event will be on Wednesday 24 September here at Evesham Baptist Church and Community Centre, Offenham Road, Evesham.
Cakes will be donated and, together with hot drinks, will be available from 10am to 12noon. The Community Coffee Shop will then stay open until 3pm, offering its regular lunch and snacks service.
We hope that our coffee morning will be a lively sociable event, raising much needed funds for Macmillan.
